Best Time to Visit Hunza: A Season-by-Season Guide
20 Jan 2026 · RoadRiders Team
Hunza is a year-round destination, but the experience changes dramatically with the seasons. Choosing the right window is the single biggest decision in planning your trip.
Spring (April–May) brings the famous cherry and apricot blossoms, turning the valley pink and white. Temperatures are mild and the light is soft — ideal for photography.
Autumn (October–November) is arguably Hunza at its most spectacular, with poplars and orchards glowing gold against snow-dusted peaks. This is peak season, so book early.
Winter (December–February) is quiet, cold and beautiful, with snow blanketing the valley. Khunjerab Pass is usually closed, but the lower valley is magical and uncrowded.
Summer (June–September) is warm and green, the best time to push all the way to Khunjerab Pass and combine Hunza with Skardu or Fairy Meadows.
Whatever season you choose, our Hunza Valley 5 Days tour is timed to make the most of it — message us and we'll recommend the perfect departure.
